January 13 – The Power of Prayer Partners

Prayer Partners | India Transformed!

Nothing can supercharge your prayer life like having a prayer partner. Just ask Joshua and Moses. In Exodus chapter 17, Amalek assaulted the people of God in the wilderness. Moses instructed Joshua to go out in the valley of Rephidim and fight against the enemy. Moses would go to the top of the mountain to intercede on his behalf.

As long as Moses held up his hands Joshua would prevail in the battle; but if Moses let his hands down, Joshua would become weak and Amalek would prevail. Thankfully Moses was not alone. Aaron and Hur held up the hands of Moses so that he could intercede for Joshua so that Joshua could overcome the enemy so that Israel could be victorious. Here are a few thoughts about the familiar passage:

  • Being assaulted by the enemy is part of the wilderness experience.
  • The power I receive in overcoming the enemy oftentimes comes through the intercession of others.
  • The little burdens in life can prevent me from helping others…that is why I need a partner.
  • Victory comes when we all work together. Having someone to help you in the fight will ultimately determine whether or not you obtain victory. Get a partner to help you bear the weight.
