“It is the duty of every Christian to be Christ to his neighbor” –Martin Luther
I recently read a story about a poverty-stricken community that for years experienced famine, low-income, and depravity. From generation to generation their children were malnourished, their food was sparse, and their hopes were diminished. The saddest part of their destitution was that no one in the small village knew that beneath the soil was a vast supply of crude oil. They lived and died without ever knowing it existed. Had they known, their lives would have been so much different.
There is a generation of people who have never heard the gospel of Jesus Christ. They live in spiritual poverty; they experience spiritual destitution; and they die without any hope. If they knew the truth, their lives would be completely different; but no one has ever told them.
Some of these people live in third-world countries. Some live in places with no electricity, plumbing, or heat and air; but some of them live next door to you. Some work beside you on the job. Some attend the same school as your children. We, as believers, have the responsibility to share the Good News. There is a vast supply of grace for every soul; and every soul needs to hear that God loves them and wants them to be saved. Tell someone today of the glorious hope that exists down deep in your heart.
