“He was not that light but was sent to bear witness of that light.” –John 1:8
What if our lives were as perfect and magical as what we post on Facebook? We post pictures of perfection and harmonized families, and statuses about being totally devoted Christians.
Often times we us it as a playbook of all the good things we have done. A reminder to others and ourselves about how big our crown will be in glory. I wonder how often we take away our blessings because we share it on social media? Because we would rather tell a story and receive the praise and “likes” of others instead of letting God pour out the rewards.
How many times would God push the like button? What comments and replies would He make? What is it that we want people to see; the work, which God allows us to do, or the work that He does? The blessings that God allows us to take part in or the blessings that God bestows on others?
Social media could be an amazing platform in which we are able to reach the lost. Instead we have allowed it to be a platform upon which we stand and boast of ourselves. It is often times a platform in which we use to judge and criticize others. We have created a platform that was never ours to stand on. If you were to post a status and share Christ today, who would get the most likes? You or God?
