“God who hath reconciled us unto himself by Jesus Christ, hath given us the ministry of reconciliation…” –The Apostle Paul

I was at a large camp meeting in North Georgia a few years back when I met a family that traveled around performing Gospel Bluegrass. I’m a guitar player, have been since I was fourteen. The girls in this group, though they were quite a bit younger than me, could play circles around my skill level! “How long do you spend practicing?” I had to know. The girls shyly responded, “Between three and five hours per day.”

If you make your living as a musician, the one thing you ought to know is music. Chefs spend hours every day around flavor. Some professional basketball players have been known to sleep with a basketball in their hands at night. A good mechanic can tune a carburetor and set an engine’s timing just by listening to the motor.

According to II Corinthians chapter five, Christians ought to be experts in an area of their own; reconciliation. Our lives have been changed completely because of the fact that we have successfully made peace with God. A man who achieves such a feat would surely know something about the process, right? Actually, every reconciled human is now an ambassador in the ministry of reconciliation. The solution to depravity is within us! You may not feel like a professional at anything but I’m here to remind you that you are! Every lost soul within reach of your hands stands in need of your gift!
