“You can have everything in life that you want if you just give enough people what they want.” –Zig Ziglar
Many people treat the church like a cafeteria. They go through the line week to week, get what they want, discard what they dislike, sit down, feed themselves, and walk away to let someone else clean up the mess. Sunday in and Sunday out, they come in and expect others to serve them. They seldom think of the sacrifice involved for them to have something to eat.
What we need in this generation are more people to get out of the cafeteria and into the kitchen.
Back in the kitchen, selfless laborers are tirelessly working to ensure that others get fed. No, there are no “big names” or fancy titles back in the kitchen, but there is the satisfaction of serving. The only reward in the kitchen is the reward of helping, feeding, and blessing others. In the cafeteria people sit, but in the kitchen people stand. In the cafeteria people are served, in the kitchen people are serving. In the cafeteria people have the joy of eating, but in the kitchen people have the joy of watching others eat.
Be a blessing to your church, your pastor, and your God; from time to time take a break from the cafeteria and get involved in the kitchen!
