“God is not a principle power, but a Person…with a mind that thinks, a heart that feels, a will that acts.” –Robert Hamill
One of my favorite chapters in the Bible is Psalm 139. King David speaks of the omnipotence, omniscience, and omnipresence of our God in great detail throughout the chapter. My favorite verses in that chapter are verses seventeen and eighteen; they read, “How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.”
God is continually thinking of us. Can you imagine such a thing? David declared some profound doctrinal truths about God in this portion of Scripture, but these are the only two verses where he used an exclamation point! And he used it twice! God, right now, is thinking of us!
These thoughts are precious– “How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God!
These thoughts are plentiful- “If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand”
These thoughts are persistent- “when I awake, I am still with thee.” You and I are always in the mind of God, we are on constantly in His thoughts- is He in ours?
