“He who loses money loses much; he who loses friends, loses more; he who loses faith loses all.”–Eleanor Roosevelt
There was rich man in the Bible whom God had greatly blessed. His fields produced a great harvest and he needed somewhere to store the increase. This man became inundated with his success and developed a plan to tear down his existing barns in order to build larger and more suitable facilities for his wealth.
In the process of his development he forsook the importance of spiritual matters and was told by God that his soul would be required. Though he was considered fortunate in the world’s economy he was considered a fool by God. He failed to prepare his soul.
We do not just have a soul- we are a soul. Our bodies will decay, our spirit will depart, but our soul lives forever. Your soul is the real you. It is the part of you that is only known by God; and in order to go to heaven your soul must be saved.
Much like this rich man in the Bible, we too busy our lives with many nuances. We work, plan, strategize, and develop ways to facilitate our dreams and successes; but a man who has all the success in the world and has failed to prepare his soul is considered a fool. Forget about building bigger barns on earth; store up treasure in heaven and be rich unto God.
