“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more then you are a leader.” –John Quincy Adams
Regardless of your post or position in life you are in leadership. Leadership is ultimately influence, and whether it is good or bad- you have influence over certain people. Consider these three questions about your life of leadership:
1. Who Am I Leading? Someone somewhere is looking to you for guidance and direction. Your children, friends, students in a class, or your co-workers on a job are constantly evaluating your behavior. Make a list of who you are leading and be attentive to their needs.
2. Where Am I Leading Them? Once you have identified those you are leading then you must consider where you are taking them. Every journey has an end; where will those you lead end up? Make a list of goals for those you are leading. Ultimately as spiritual leaders we should lead men to Christ.
3. How Am I Leading? Who you are leading and where you are leading is not as important as how you are leading. Do you walk before people in honor, character, and integrity? Do you live up to your word? Do you display humility and mercy? People will not only remember where you took them, they will remember how you took them. Evaluate your leadership skills in comparison to the life and ministry of Christ- lead as He led, live as He lived, and love as He loved.
