“Nobody ever outgrows Scripture, the book widens and deepens with our years.” –Charles Spurgeon

How much water do you drink on a daily basis?  Odds are, you are not drinking enough.  Scientists have determined that by the time we recognize our thirst, we have already began the early stages of dehydration.  When we recognize the thirst, we only drink enough to quench a dry throat.  Rarely do we compensate for the water we have lost.

It is recommended that we drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water each day to secure proper hydration. If the body needs a certain amount of water on a daily basis, I would assume the soul does as well.

Without a daily regimen of Scripture reading, prayer, and devotion we are prone to spiritual dehydration.  Let me ask you again: How much water do you drink, spiritually, on a daily basis?

If the answer is “not enough,” allow me to invite you to God’s well.  Come to His cleansing stream, rest awhile beside the still waters and replenish your soul for today’s journey.
