“Continuous effort, not strength or intelligence, is the key to unlocking your potential” –Winston Churchill
Thomas Edison held thousands of patents during the course of his life. His innovative and genius spirit gave his generation a host of life-changing, time-saving inventions. Edison, however, felt as though the only invention that was truly his original idea was the phonograph. He believed all his other patents were merely undeveloped ideas that other people failed to improve.
Edison had a unique ability to tap into something that someone else had left undone.
I wonder how many things in our own lives are left undone. I wonder how many projects are started without resolute conviction to finish the task. I wonder how many goals are set without willpower to see the plan come to fruition. I wonder how many dreams die without ever becoming a reality.
“Most of the important things in the world,” said Dale Carnegie, “have been accomplished by people who have kept trying when there seemed no hope at all.” It was Winston Churchill who believed, “Continuous effort, not strength or intelligence, is the key to unlocking your potential.”
No one would argue that Thomas Edison was a brilliant man. But perhaps his will power was greater than his brain power. Today, finish your task, complete your assignment, and fulfill your dream. Leave nothing undone in this God-given moment.
