“By prevailing over distractions, one may unfailingly arrive at his chosen goal or destiny” –Christopher Columbus

is full of distractions.  If we are not careful, we can become so enamored with disruptions that we lose sight of what’s important.  Henry Ford said, “Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off the goal.”

Whatever clouds your vision will control your direction.  Whatever controls your direction will ultimately characterize your life.  I like what T.E. Lawrence said, “All men dream; but not equally.  Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds awake to find that it was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible.”

Without a clear vision you will have difficulty going where God directs your life.  Press toward the prize for the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.  The only reason we should look behind us, beside us, or below us is to keep our bearings of where we are and where we are going.  Therefore, keep looking ahead.  Keep pressing on.  Keep your sights on the finish line.  Keep your vision undisturbed.  Perhaps Christopher Columbus said it best, “By prevailing over distractions, one may unfailingly arrive at his chosen goal or destination.”
